Jewel in the crown

By Libby Wood
Exquisite, individually designed rings and fine handcrafted jewellery can be found close to home at Ralf Fisch Fine Jewellery in The Basin.
Highly trained and qualified staff provide clients with personal consultations on diamond and gem selection, particularly when focusing on the breathtaking range of individually designed engagement and wedding rings.
Ralf Fisch has been involved in the jewellery industry for twenty years.
He has completed apprenticeships in both watchmaking and jewellery, attaining apprentice of the year for each year of jewellery training.
Ralf’s quest to create exquisite items of jewellery led him to own and lead a successful jewellery business in Bennettswood, but with a growing family, Ralf decided that it was time to work closer to home and contribute to the local community.
In 2004, the doors of Ralf Fisch Fine Jewellery were proudly opened in The Basin.
“Many clients are pleased and even a little surprised to find our level of expertise so close to home, i.e. craftsmanship and trained professionals that one may only expect to find in a leading inner city boutique,” said Ralf.
He is assisted in the shop by registered valuer and qualified gemologist, Jane Bulmer.
With 20 years of experience in the jewellery industry, Jane’s knowledge and skills are invaluable to the business.
Ralf and Jane provide clients with individual design consultations.
“We will hand make a couple’s dream engagement ring, taking them through the selection of diamonds (and gems), sourcing the best quality stones to suit their needs and working with them to produce a piece that perfectly reflects these needs.
“We focus on attention to detail with every item of jewellery that leaves the store, whether an item of stock, a consignment piece or a repair job,” said Ralf, who also restores worn treasures to an ‘as new’ state.
“The same level of thought and care is given to our range of jewellery on display,” he said.
Ralf Fisch Fine Jewellery is at 1315 Mountain Highway, The Basin. Phone 9762 6953.
Opening hours are by appointment 8am-5pm and 7.30pm-9.30pm on Monday, 8am-5pm on Tuesday and 7.30pm-9.30pm on Thursday.
The shop is open 8am-5pm Thursday and 8am-5pm Friday.
