Escape to wildlife

A HIDDEN sanctuary, Bimbimbie is set in the beautiful hillside near Emerald and Pakenham.
If you want to escape for a while and get close to nature then Bimbimbie is the place to be these school holidays.
It is a place the whole family can enjoy. Children can play with and cuddle friendly farmyard animals or wander through the native section hand feeding deer, kangaroos and wallabies.
Two of the park’s newest residents, koalas Beau and Benny are also waiting for you to meet them in the new koala enclosure.
During the holidays Bimbimbie will again run its popular Ranger for the Day program on Thursday, 19 January and Wednesday, 25 January. Bookings are currently being taken for this program.
The free Wildlife Encounter time at 2pm allows people to get close to lizards and snakes and learn about how they can help conserve our wonderful wildlife.
Children can also take part in Bimbimbie’s interactive puppet plays and sing along with Kylie Koala and her friends.
Ceramic figurine painting allows parents to enjoy a cuppa on the verandah of the tearoom and the new toddlers play area allows some much needed time out for parents.
Alternatively you can take a barbecue or a picnic and enjoy the bush setting of the park’s picnic area.
There is also plenty of room to play a game of cricket or volleyball.
So discover all this family friendly place has to offer these school holidays.
Bimbimbie is open Tuesday to Sunday 10am-5pm and can be found at 523 Paternoster Road, Mt Burnett. Phone 5942 7238 for more information.
