POLICE are seeking witnesses to a fight in which two men were stabbed at a Knox hotel in August.
An unknown man stabbed a Scoresby man and a Ferntree Gully man after an altercation in the Knox Tavern on Friday, 11 August.
Police have been told an unknown man approached a group in the hotel’s sports bar and an argument broke out shortly after 11pm.
After a heated exchange the unknown man allegedly smashed a pot glass on the head of a 19-year-old Scoresby man, causing minor cuts.
Security guards ejected the unknown man from the premises and he was joined by a male friend.
The two walked around to the eastern side of the tavern where they were allegedly followed by the Scoresby man and about three of his friends. A scuffle took place and the unknown man produced a small knife, stabbing one of the friends several times before fleeing the scene in a silver or blue new model Ford Falcon sedan, possibly an XR6.
The the Scoresby man was treated at the scene while a friend, a 20-year-old Ferntree Gully man, was taken to The Alfred hospital where he was treated for stab wounds.
The unknown assailant is described as Caucasian with dark brown or black hair which was short and slicked back at the time.
He has a medium build, is about 173cm tall, and was wearing a black pullover, dark jeans and boots.
