Bombers are too good

EMERALD Bombers Under 11s have made it a second undefeated season on the trot after gunning down Woori Yallock in the final.
Team captain Jack Preston and his troops arrived early with great anticipation for the day ahead.
The wet conditions could not dampen the boys’ spirits after intensive pre-match preparation.
With the siren sounding to start the game, Emerald attacked the ball with great enthusiasm, running, supporting and pushing forward at every opportunity.
The Bombers dominated the first three-quarters with many chances to put the result beyond doubt, but a lack of accuracy in front of goal prevented the rewards showing on the scoreboard.
A fantastic team goal to start the last quarter saw Emerald go four goals up, and despite slightly tiring toward the end of the game, the hard work early on by all the players paid off.
The sound of the final siren was celebrated with massive excitement by players and supporters as the Bombers’ dream of winning the premiership was realised.
The Bombers’ song was sung over and over with gusto by all concerned.
With the premiership cup in their hands, the boys ran a lap of honour to celebrate a season which saw them crowned premiers and champions as the undefeated team in the Under 11s.
Coaches Paul Preston, Anthony Bownds, Geoff Ladner and team manager Greg Haesler said the players’ consistent effort at keeping their heads over the ball was an indication of their desire to succeed against all tactics.
“It goes to show ball players will always win out,” Mr Ladner said.
The members of the victorious side were Dylan Arnold, Matthew Jones, Nathan Bownds, Peter Jukic, Jordan Cook, Wayde Ladner, Joshua Fidanza, Jack Preston, Jamie Francis, Jason Reilly, Jake Francombe, Andrew Ritchie, Dale Geysen, Lachlan Roberts, Lachlan Gleeson, James Webb, Matthew Haesler, Grant White, Christopher Jones, Connor Zethof, Darcy Hellriegel and Daniel Jones.
