EMERALD Primary School could get a new lick of paint if a Liberal Government is elected in November.
The Liberal candidate has promised to grant the school $150,000 for improvements.
At the moment Emerald Primary School is in desperate need of a paint job, on the inside and the outside.
School principal Terry Simpson said such funding would be a welcome boost for the school as it would cost more than $250,000 to paint it.
Mr Simpson said the State Government had granted money for maintenance upgrades for the school, but there was never enough money to go around.
The Liberal candidate for Gembrook, Simon Wildes, and opposition education spokesman Martin Dixon visited the school last week to make the $150,000 promise.
Mr Wildes said this promise of funding showed a Liberal Government’s commitment to providing the best educational surrounds for Emerald children. “This grant will mean the school can build new buildings, and provide better play equipment,” he said.
