Under 15 girls competition

In the Under 15 girls competition, second placed Sherbrooke Phoenix travelled to Langwarrin to play the undefeated league leaders.
The game was played at a frenetic pace and was evenly poised all day. Neither side could penetrate the others defence. Clare MacGregor denied an almost certain Langwarrin goal with a desperate clearance off the goal line after a shot had beaten the keeper. At the other end Sherbrooke were also denied through desperate defence by the Langwarrin girls.
The game finished as a nil all draw.
The Under 10 Gunners travelled to Ashburton for an early kickoff. The boys were unsettled early by a decision on the part of their hosts to abandon the offside rule. Consequently Ashburton scored heavily with a stiff breeze in the first half with many of their goals coming from players in offside positions.
In the second half Sherbrooke adjusted their game and played some good football. James Webb and Joe Blair showed great poise in defence and stymied many Ashburton attacks. A wonderful cross from Jeremy Davies allowed Tyson Perfect to slot home the Gunners only goal of the game. The final score was 91.
The Under 9 Sherbrooke Power put in another fine performance on the weekend defeating Ashburton 21 Mason Scott and Joel Turpin scored the goals while both Riley Scott and Daniel Collins had a fantastic game.
The Under 9 Bears played out an exciting three all draw against Whitehorse.
