Ceberano hits the right note

By Ed Merrison
KNOX has found an angel to headline a night of celestial singing.
Knox City Council has announced multiple ARIA award winner Kate Ceberano will be the star attraction at Knox’s Carols by Candlelight on Saturday, 2 December.
Singer-songwriter Ms Ceberano, who is renowned for her soulful and powerful vocal style, will headline the night of friendship and festivity at Ferntree Gully Recreation Reserve.
She will receive plenty of back-up from a bill which includes the 70-piece National Children’s Choir and a 35-piece concert band conducted by Peter Grant.
Comedian, radio personality, singer and songwriter Greg Champion will be the MC for the night’s proceedings.
Mr Champion is most famous for his role in the Coodabeen Champions, broadcast nationally on ABC radio for more than 15 years.
Multi instrumentalist Don Burrows, who has been at the forefront of world jazz for most of his life, will also grace the stage with a set that promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Knox mayor David Cooper said the evening was a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas with the family.
“The night gets underway at 5pm with free art and craft activities for children, followed by an exciting line-up of guest artists, national choirs, an appearance by Father Christmas and the magical fireworks show,” he said.
