Cotton on to Blessed Earth

Blessed Earth in Selby stocks quality Sekem products made from organic cotton grown using the “vital
MOST of Australia’s clothing and manchester now comes from China, according to Raithe Handiman, proprietor of Blessed Earth, Organic Cotton Essentials in Selby.
“These goods are made to a price, without any regard to the well-being of the consumer. They are saturated with chemicals, which can only add to the toxic burden we are all carrying — especially our children,” said Mr Handiman.
“By contrast, the Sekem group in Egypt grows and processes all of its cotton completely organically, using bio-dynamic preparations.
“In recent trials conducted with the Egyptian government, cotton yields were so high that the Government has now banned all aerial spraying in Egypt, in case the organic cotton crops became contaminated. Over half of the Egyptian cotton growers have now converted to organic methods,” he said.
At Blessed Earth, most of the children’s and adults’ clothing, bath wear and underwear comes from Sekem, or is made in Australia from Sekem fabrics.
During July, Blessed Earth is offering on special the remnants of a large shipment of Sekem 100 per cent cotton bathrobes for just $75 (originally $130). These make the ideal gift — or treat! Sizes are small, medium, large and extra large.
The Blessed Earth store is at 125 Belgrave-Gembrook Road, Selby. Phone 1300 732 933.
Credit cards and laybys are accepted.
