GEMBROOK RSL sub-branch was full of Christmas cheer last week as the club hosted an afternoon tea for the town’s senior citizens.
Tony Borg, sub-branch president, said the club hosts a Christmas afternoon tea every year for the seniors.
Mr Borg said it is a great way to spread the spirit of Christmas.
He said the idea for the afternoon tea was born four years ago when the club was trying to find ways to become more well-known in the community.
“No one really knew we (the RSL) were here and we wanted to do something to lift our profile,” he said.
Mr Borg said the club then decided it would be the perfect opportunity to give back to the elderly people in the town by giving them a Christmas afternoon tea.
Senior citizen Eva Frith said the afternoon tea is a marvellous idea and is always a great day out.
