Returning for study in 2007

MOUNTAIN District Learning Centre in Ferntree Gully is the place to be in 2007 for those who wish to return to study and improve their chances for employment or further education at a TAFE or university.
For those who need a year 11 or 12 English pass before starting a TAFE course, MDLC has offered VCE studies and training for more than 30 years and has assisted many students to achieve their career goals.
MDLC is offering VCE in a range of subject areas during the day at both years 11 and 12, with studio arts a new subject this year.
Literature and philosophy are available as evening classes. Students can enrol in one or more subjects and still work full or part-time.
Daytime childcare is on site with library and computer facilities available to students.
All classes have experienced teachers creating a relaxed yet professional adult learning environment
VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning) is also offered to students at intermediate level (year 11).
This is a more hands-on approach to learning and builds skills for employment as studies cover numeracy, literacy, and personal development, with work related skills in areas of industry.
VCAL is a great pathway to choose as an alternative to VCE and is recognised as a senior school certificate.
Enrolments are now being taken.
For further information contact coordinator Karen Crawford at MDLC on 9758 7859.
Mountain District Learning Centre is at 13-15 The Avenue, Ferntree Gully.
