THE Len Jeffrey Memorial Preschool is centrally located in Colby Drive where it has been part of the Belgrave South community since 1959.
Near schools and the centre of the Belgrave South Community, the kinder boasts a large shaded playground with plenty of space for children to play, explore, be part of the group or sit quietly and relax.
With two play rooms catering for more than 100 children, the preschool provides programs that are planned to meet the individual needs of all children, including those with special needs, in a nurturing, caring environment where children learn to respect each person as an individual.
These programs are provided by long-serving, experienced teaching staff who have dedicated their careers to developing future generations.
As part of the growing awareness of environmental issues, staff and committee are working towards providing a sustainable future for all children.
Water tanks aid in teaching water conservation, and staff are constantly working towards reducing any impact on the environment by composting, recycling and reusing whenever possible.
The preschool is also part of the Go For Life Program, which aims at providing children with the skills and knowledge to make healthy choices in life.
This helps in trying to combat childhood obesity and other related health issues at an early age and make children responsible for some of these choices when possible.
Parents who are looking for the right preschool environment for their child can contact Len Jeffrey Memorial Preschool on 9754 5965 or visit the centre any week day for a tour.
They are also encouraged to come along to the open day on Friday 23 May from 1pm to 4pm at 102 Colby Drive, Belgrave South, or visit www.lenjeffreymemorialpreschool.vic.edu.au
