New shire chief’s passion

SHIRE of Yarra Ranges councillors have unanimously endorsed the appointment of Glenn Patterson as the shire’s new CEO.
Mr Patterson will take up the role on 7 July. Currently the CEO of the Shire of Baw Baw, Mr Patterson was the Colac Otway Shire Council CEO between1998 and 2002.
He has also worked in the property sector as both a CEO and a general manager.
“Glenn has a wealth of experience in local government, a passion for serving the community and a strong values-based leadership style,” Cr Heenan said.
“We look forward to his contribution to the organisation and to the Yarra Ranges community.”
Mr Patterson said he was thrilled to have been selected to lead the shire.
“The Yarra Ranges is a very special place with world-class landscape values and a rich and diverse cultural base,” he said.
Current CEO Rob Hauser will step down after more than nine years in the job.
“Rob has made a major contribution to the council and the Yarra Ranges community,” Cr Heenan said.
“He leaves the shire in a very strong position, having played a key role in significantly reducing the shire’s debt and delivering on record funding for important community services and infrastructure.”
