A CELEBRATION of Celtic, gospel, and rhythm and blues music on Friday 4 April, at St George’s Anglican Church in Monbulk, includes Irish songwriter Sammy Horner and Scottish singer Alex Legg.
The entertainment begins a year of centenary celebrations for the church.
Church member Nigel Crunden said the night of music was a great way to begin the celebrations.
Horner is renowned as a songwriter, bass player and as the front man of Celtic rock group, The Electrics.
He is also a pioneer for infusing Celtic music and contemporary worship music together.
Based in the United Kingdom, Horner travels the world singing songs of faith with his stories infused with an infectious Irish sense of humour.
Scottish singer-songwriter Legg is renowned for his personal Celtic style and has played in folk clubs and pubs across Europe, the UK and now in Australia.
The entertainment starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost $20 for adults, $15 for concession card holders, and $50 for a family pass, which includes light refreshments and drinks.
Mr Crunden said the church was also calling for help to compile a history for its centenary celebrations.
He is calling for anyone with stories about the church or photographs of weddings, and baptisms, to come forward.
