Gembrook Football Club welcomes North Melbourne AFL players to its registration day.Gembrook Football Club welcomes North Melbourne AFL players to its registration day.

GEMBROOK’S junior and senior football clubs joined forces last month and held a very successful registration day up at the town Recreation Reserve.
A football clinic run by local favourite Michael Firrito who plays for AFL team North Melbourne delighted many junior footballers and parents alike.
Firrito has made his way through the North Melbourne ranks holding his position in the back line and recently being given a new jumper number belonging to retired North Melbourne legend Glenn Archer.
Accompanied by team mates Daniel Pratt and Hamish McIntosh the North Melbourne players put the kids through their paces, firstly with a lap of the Gembrook ground and then into some skill drills with the footy.
The kids were then treated to a free sausage sizzle and given some great North Melbourne gifts.
The Gembrook-Cockatoo Junior Football Club reported record numbers of registrations for children to play football in 2008.
The Gembrook-Cockatoo Senior Football club has also recently changed its name to the Gembrook-Cockatoo Football Netball Club.
Over the past three seasons the football club has also put in teams for netball in the Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League.
The club has two open age netball teams and is currently looking for new players, umpires and coaches.
Inquires can be made to Carolyn Goodie on 5967 7060.
