MUSIC lovers can jive to the sounds of blues and alternative country rock with artists Eddie Cole and Marisa Yeaman playing at the Burrinja Gallery in Upwey on Friday night.
The evening of swinging music is the next installment of the Rangers Folk Club.
The club meets on the last Friday of every month and features great acoustic music in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of the Burrinja Gallery.
Monbulk “folk funky blues” artist Eddie Cole will mesmorise the audience with his unique voice which is best compared to Ben Harper, Jack Johnson and Don McLean.
Eddie has been in the music scene since the mid1980s when he was a teenager playing at Melbourne’s Prince Patrick Hotel.
His journey has led to busking in London and across Australia. In the past two years Eddie has performed both solo and duo around Melbourne.
Eddie recently supported recording artist Diesel at Ruby’s Lounge in Belgrave, and launched his mellow EP at Manchester Lane in the heart of Melbourne.
Singer and songwriter, Marisa Yeaman will also entertain the crowd with her alternative country and blues music.
Marisa has been writing songs since she was 13 and has played guitar since she was seven.
But, it is only now that Marisa is making an impact on the music industry, and has released three EPs and a debut album.
People interested in a night of folk funky blues and country rock should attend the Ranges Folk Club night on Friday at Burrinja Gallery, 351 Glenfern Road, Upwey from 8pm.
The cost is $10 for adults and children’s entry is free.
Beer, wine, coffee and snacks are also available.
