Magic revealed

Anthony Anthony

By Laura Gilmartin
ANTHONY De Masi is defying the magicians’ old adage to never reveal the secrets behind their magic tricks.
The comedy magician will present a magic show followed by a workshop in which he will teach participants the techniques behind his mystery.
Mr De Masi considers himself a full-time magician, having recently participated in the World’s Longest Magic Show at Luna Park.
Magic of De Masi will showcase at Burrinja Arts Centre on Wednesday 9 July at 11am, followed by the Magic Workshop at 3pm, and feature Mr De Masi’s furry friend, Brian, the magic rabbit.
The Ang Fang Quartet will showcase Nosferatu, which they composed for F W Murnau’s 1921 film.
The mix of swing, jazz and polka music presentation has met with rave reviews in Melbourne.
Nosferatu is renowned as being the first vampire film ever created and Ang Fang’s recently created piece aims to bring it back to life.
The performance will take place at Burrinja on Saturday 12 July at 8pm.
Also on offer at Burrinja, performances of The Little Princess by young performance group ITT Productions.
The Little Princess is based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, who also wrote The Secret Garden and will be performed by a cast of more than 20 from age seven to adults.
