BASKETBALL fans will get the opportunity to rub shoulders with a pioneer for women’s basketball, Michelle Timms, later this month.
In a one-off event, the retired star will talk about her life, achievements and career.
The one-on-one session with Timms is being hosted by Knox Basketball and is hoped to be the first of many.
Justin Nelson of Knox Basketball says it is hoped that the one-on-one sessions will become a regular feature for local sports fans.
The session with Timms will be held on Wednesday, 16 May, at Knox Quest, 137 Maroondah Highway, Wantirna.
Mr Nelson said the session would be set up in a relaxed atmosphere where Timms will be interviewed by a host about her life, career and achievements.
The audience will then be able to ask Timms some questions about her career.
Timms has won two Olympic medals and has been a pioneer for women’s basketball, becoming one of the first to play in both Europe and the USA.
Basketball fans wanting to find out more about Timms’ life, career and achievement should book a ticket now for the one-on-one session.
Mr Nelson said that everyone who attends the session will have their photograph taken with Timms and it will be emailed to them the next day.
He said Knox Basketball is now looking at a range of guests for the next round of one-on-one sessions, but that the guests will not all come from a basketball background.
Basketball fans should book now to secure one of the 200 seats available for an up close and personal look at Timms.
Tickets cost $20 and finger food will be supplied and drinks will be available at bar prices. To make a booking call 9762 1298.
