THE Governor of Victoria officially opened the refurbished auditorium at the Knox School on Monday 3 March.
Professor David de Kretsa was the guest of honour at a short ceremony, which was attended by the school board and council, local dignitaries, students and their parents.
The ceremony featured entertainment from the Knox School Big Band and school choir, The Pengana Voices.
The Governor took a short tour of the school following the ceremony.
The renovations to increase the number of seats in the auditorium from 200 to almost 400 have taken more than 12 months and were completed at the end of 2007.
Knox School spokesman Barrye Dickinson said the school hoped the auditorium would be used by the surrounding primary and secondary schools as well as the wider Knox community.
