HEALTH FIRST:HEALTH FIRST:

PARAGON Oriental Therapies offers traditional Thai massage, relaxation massage and bodywork. With more than 10 years’ experience, owner Kirsty Aspinall, of Istashi in Belgrave South, specialises in orientalstyle massage.
“Traditional Thai massage is an ancient healing art, using thumb, palm, elbow, knee and foot pressure, combined with gentle yogabased stretches to stimulate and balance the energy flow and release blockages, leading to increased vitality and general wellbeing,” said Ms Aspinall.
Thai massage is performed with the patient fully clothed and is beneficial in the treatment of a broad range of physical discomforts. TTM will also help improve posture and mobility and promote a deep sense of relaxation for the mind, body and spirit.
Shiatsu is another of Ms Aspinall’s specialties.
“Shiatsu is a safe and effective therapy developed in Japan that treats the whole body in a systematic way to increase vitality, relieve fatigue and stimulate the body’s natural healing power by pressure applied by the thumbs, fingers and hands to key points on the body,” said Ms Aspinall.
“Pressing these points stimulates the skin and relieves muscular stiffness. It also regulates the nervous system and stimulates blood circulation and hormonal secretion. Shiatsu can be beneficial for specific problems such as neck and shoulder stiffness, stress and tension, fatigue, back pain, headaches and migraines, asthma and many other conditions.”
Also available is relaxation massage and body work. A range of aromatherapy oils (pure essential oils) and special blends for a special occasion are supplied for clients to buy at Paragon.
Be organised early for Father’s Day with a special offer of a onehour relaxation massage for dad at only $45. Call in to Istashi to prepurchase this great gift.
Paragon Oriental Therapies is at 162 Colby Drive, Belgrave South, phone 9752 5013 or 0407 803 994. Ms Aspinall is available on Tuesday to Saturday and on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
