MONBULK Aquatic Centre offers a great range of activities, which promote good health and wellbeing, as well as education in the aquatic area.
The gym has a cardio and weights area, as well as pin-loaded machines, which assist members in strength training.
These machines specifically target chest, back, legs and arms in a safe and supported manner. Free weights are available for the more confident users.
Teen gym sessions are available twice a week
Group fitness classes on offer are yoga, Pilates, boxing and cross training.
Personal training is also available
Centre manager Helen Hostettler believes that Aquatic Education is paramount to the development and safe upbringing of all children.
“With more than 1100 students enrolled on a weekly basis the water in our pool is often turbulent,” she said.
Adult squads are available for those interested in extending their stamina in aquatics.
Water aerobics is a great way to get fit while the water assists in supporting the body, which helps prevent injury.
The Pryme Movers classes are offered on most days where those who are over 50 can join classes specifically designed for them.
Tea, coffee and chat sessions follow these classes which can be a major source of support for isolated adults.
Monbulk Aquatic Centre celebrated its 40th birthday last year and is very happy to have the strong support of the local community.
It is with this support and the strong belief in the future that the shire and state governments have provided approximately $2,500,000 funding for the centre upgrade. This process has already started and works should commence early next year.
