HILLS children were given a behind the scenes look at puppetry earlier this month.
More than 120 people attended the Crocodile Tears puppet show, which was organised by the Cardinia Shire Council.
The school holiday activity aimed to introduce children to the art of puppetry by revealing a behind the scenes look at the show.
Puppeteer and artist Ian Cuming entertained the children at the Cardinia Cultural Centre with a story about a crocodile that was unhappy because the river was polluted. The show was followed by a workshop where children got the chance to create their own puppets of a water-based creature.
Mayor Kate Lempriere was a special guest at the show and said it was fantastic to see the children using their imagination to create their own puppets.
“I am very passionate about the arts and was thrilled to see so many people enjoying the show and the workshop,” she said.
