WITH almost a century of experience in the fresh produce game, the family behind the Get Fresh logo has every reason to be leaders in their field.
Family owned and operated, Get Fresh has noticed a change to supermarket pricing since it opened in Boronia in March 2005.
“We were the leaders in lowering prices in the district,” said owner Ian Ferguson.
Employing more than 140 staff and up to 170 in the summer months, Get Fresh stores at Boronia and Vermont South always strive to be affordable and fresh daily.
What makes them unique is their quality control and wide choice of meats and fresh produce.
“Get Fresh is renowned for the long shelf-life of its produce and products,” said Ian.
“We have people driving in from miles away to stock up on our products.”
Its guarantee of quality also extends to the massive meat display, prepared and packaged daily.
With wide aisles and meticulously clean beds of colourful fruit and vegetables, Get Fresh stores provide consumers with an enjoyable shopping experience.
The Get Fresh family is strongly community-minded in supporting what is important to the locals.
Not only are they long-standing supporters of the Lions Club and the Knox basketball team, but the shoppers themselves are also in line for some kickbacks.
“Every day we give away 20 vouchers to randomly selected shoppers — 10 in each store,” said Ian.
“We want to emphasise how easy it is to eat healthy, affordable produce.”
Their generous output continues every weekend with a shop-front barbecue in support of local organisations.
With great daily specials, Get Fresh stores are at 163 Boronia Road, Boronia and 495-511 Burwood Highway Vermont South.
