TWO local schools have brand new equipment, thanks to a little extra cash.
Belgrave’s St Thomas More Primary School received $1200 from the Telstra Foundation to purchase new digital video equipment.
Ferntree Gully’s F.W. Kerr Preschool used its $1200 grant to replace an old rope bridge that had become frayed and unsafe.
The pre-school’s director Gill La Ponder said the kids were excited to test out the new equipment.
“It’s great for them to increase their motor development,” she said.
“We’re really thrilled.”
Ms La Ponder said the pre-school was grateful for the cash.
The centre received a $1200 Telstra Foundation grant three years ago for outdoor climbing equipment.
Some 209 grants totalling more than $250,000 were awarded to non-profit groups throughout Australia in the latest Telstra Kids Fund funding round for sport, educational and music equipment.
