Hill hits jackpot with 65

KEN Hill made the best of the very slick greens at Emerald Golf Club where the course rating was set at 69.
Hill (13), who has been teetering on the edge of a really good round for a few weeks, hit the jackpot with his net 65 to take out the November Monthly Medal and emerged the winner in the B Grade.
Mike Litchfield (7) turned in another good round to head the list in A Grade while Brian McCoy (22) was the best of the C Graders with a net 75.
Barry Cook was unlucky not to top the podium with his 66, Greg Horrocks played to his handicap for 70 while Graeme Fergus, Leigh Morison and Mango Maguire all managed 71.
Hill was nearest the pin on the 4th, Jeff Marsh nearly holed out on the 7th, Ian Scott played a ripper on the 12th, Maguire did as he usually does on the 13th and Morison, once again, walked away with the pro pin on the 18th.
The Café Marte prizes for nearest the pin after two shots on the 10th and 17th were won by Dennis Fuller and Cook respectively.
Wednesday’s Obviously Forlorn Golf (OFG) was won in a canter by Moss Fuller (26) with 41 stableford points from Peter Jones (24) on 36 points.
Next Saturday is a stableford event, which will be followed on 15 November with a guest day at the club. All golfers who would like to play a game there can contact Dave at the club.
