POLICE are hunting thieves after a house in Sassafras was raided last week.
More than $15,000 worth of antique furniture was stolen in the heist.
The house in Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, Sassafras, is for sale and the furniture had been rented.
Sergeant Phil Goodburn of the Yarra Ranges Tasking Unit said the house was raided some time between Saturday 1 and Tuesday 4 November.
Police believe a truck was used to load up the furniture, before thieves made a quick getaway.
Sgt Goodburn said the house was emptied of all furniture and photographs, a haul worth more than $15,000.
Police are calling for witnesses who may have seen or heard anything to come forward.
Sgt Goodburn said police had also alerted auction houses and antique furniture stores in case the thieves tried to offload the goods.
Some of the items taken included a Persian handmade rug and several ornate dressing tables.
Anyone who may have seen anything should call police on 9751 1241.
