THE hills came alive to the sound of music and vibrant art displayed last week.
Budding Picassos and musicians put their work on show at Burrinja Gallery in Upwey.
The exhibition was part of the annual UDEC (Upwey and District Educational Community) Art Festival on Wednesday 12 November.
Students from Upwey High School, Upwey, Upwey South, Ferny Creek, Tecoma and Belgrave South primary schools put their work on show.
The festival included a number of different mediums from two to three dimensional art as well as music performances.
Belgrave South teacher Meredith Pocklington said the festival was a celebration of all the work done over the year.
She said it gave the students a purpose to their art and music.
Ms Pocklington said the festival was also a great way to lift the profile of arts in the hills.
Hundreds of people gathered on the lawn at Burrinja to listen to the young talent while others wandered through the gallery to see some of the work on display.
