UPWEY South Primary School buddies enjoyed a traditional teddy bear picnic last week.
The students snacked on fairy bread and cookies as they celebrated the end of the Buddy Bear program.
Singing, dancing and blowing bubbles were part of the afternoon program.
Each student was also given a ‘buddy’ mask as a token of the program.
The Alannah and Madeline Foundation program aims to promote the use of buddies to address bullying in schools.
As part of the program, Grade six students are paired with preps as their buddies for the year.
This year is the first time Upwey South has participated and is hoping to do it again in 2009.
The picnic gave the buddies a chance to celebrate the relationships they had formed during the year.
