Very handy with ball

UPWEY-Tecoma CC’s under-15/1 XI needed a strong start against UFTG to consolidate its position in the top four on the first day of round six last Saturday.
Returning to Kings Park for the second time this season, the Tigers delivered an inspired bowling and fielding performance to dismiss the home side for 104.
Keenan Hinton led the attack with a fine spell of 3/13 from five overs. At the close, 16 had been wiped off the target without loss.
The other two Upwey-Tecoma under-15 sides face sizeable run chases this Saturday to secure match points.
The Basin will defend 202 in section 2A while Steve Atherton (2/23) avoided a blowout in section 2B, with Lysterfield finishing on 233.
With an unbeaten 42, Jackson Waters continued his fine season, leading the under-13/1 XI to 9/126 against Knox Gardens.
Bryn Evans (35) and Mitch Hewitt (33) helped the under-17s bat out their 50 overs against Lysterfield at The Dome, and a disciplined bowling effort will be needed to restrict the visitors to 143.
The newest Tigers continue to develop at a great rate in the under-11 competition. Haydn Stanley (22), Ben Raru (12) and Shannon Vorherr (10) shone in a total of 128, while Cailan Lester (2/3) and Quinn Geraghty (2/8) led the bowling figures against Monbulk.
