VETERAN artist John Dudley is putting the final touches on his latest show.
The Emerald painter has been chosen as Lady Hawke Café’s artist of the month.
Dudley will show more than 30 pieces including a number of landscapes and still-life’s.
A variety of paintings from watercolours to pastels and oils will also be featured in the show.
Dudley has been painting for more than 40 years but still maintains he has more to learn.
He said learning new techniques were one of his many inspirations. Dudley is renowned in the art world and has featured in local and Federal Government and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
A member of the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society, Dudley rarely exhibits his works these days, but is excited about his upcoming show.
He said the Kalorama café was a completely different experience to art galleries. “It’s a relaxed environment,” he said. “It’s a place where art lovers can relax for a while in a homely environment and enjoy the company of friends over some fine home cooking,” he said.
Dudley’s work will be on show at the Lady Hawke Café, 1365 Mt Dandenong Tourist Road, Kalorama, until 31 May.
The café is open from Thursday to Monday, 9am to 5pm.
