HILLS women can pamper themselves in Emerald this weekend to raise cash for a worthy cause.
Two teams from Emerald’s Vibe Health + Fitness will host a ‘girls afternoon in’ on 20 February from 4pm to 7pm to raise $7000 that will enter them into this year’s Melbourne Oxfam Trailwalker.
The 100-kilometre event, to be held from 16 to 18 April, will use the raised funds from the ‘girls afternoon in’ to support Oxfam’s work of overcoming poverty and suffering in 27 countries.
For a $10 cover charge the afternoon in will give women the option to choose either a facial, make over, hand treatment or mini massage.
They can also enjoy raffles, silent auctions, games and champagne.
“We think it’s a good cause,” team member Kirsten Eakins said.
“The money’s going to a very good cause and it also gives us exercise and it’s fun to get out and walk together.”
The teams hope to complete the Trailwalker trek from Jells Park in Wheelers Hill to Wesburn Park in the Yarra Valley in less than 20 hours.
“It’s a very ambitious target,” Ms Eakins said.
Vibe Health + Fitness is located at 366 Belgrave-Gembrook Road, Emerald.
