MONBULK Care Network is celebrating the contribution of its staff to the community to mark National Volunteer Week on 10 to 16 May.
Administrator Bev Beazley said the group offers welfare assistance and emergency food parcels and all staff members were volunteers.
“We want to recognise their contribution to the Monbulk community and associated areas,” she said.
“As well as selling good quality second-hand goods, we sell Fair Trade goods, locally made produce, free range eggs and honey and plants from our laneway nursery.”
“All profits from Monbulk Care shop go to our community.”
Monbulk Care Network commenced in 1995 as an outreach vision of The Patch Church of Christ.
The Patch Church and Monbulk Uniting Church amalgamated in 2006 and now worship and operates the Care Network as Open Door Community Church in Monbulk.
“We financially assist student wellbeing in all the schools in our area and other community groups and needs as they arise,” Ms Beazley said.
“We will soon be offering a no interest loans scheme available to people on low incomes.”
Monbulk Care Network is located at 61-63 Main Road, Monbulk, and can be contacted on 9756 7800.
The store is open 10am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 1pm Saturdays.
