AUSTRALIAN personality and comedian Denise Drysdale is looking forward to returning to Monbulk.
“Denise is such a delight to work with and we are thrilled she wanted to be involved in our fashion parades in September for Monbulk Christian Fellowship (MCF),” Jenny’s Shoppe owner Ellen Kop said.
“Mark Thursday 16 September in your diary’s, ladies, Denise will be modelling and presenting in both the 1pm and 7.30pm parades at MCF.”
Ms Drysdale said the parade gave her a chance to catch up on the latest fashion.
“It’s always such an enjoyable time with the Jenny’s Shoppe team and the fashion parade at MCF,” she said.
“They have such a good community spirit.”
Ms Drysdale said she didn’t normally enjoy shopping for clothes and thought the parades were great, “seeing outfits in front of you, on real women without all the running around helps you choose what might suit you”.
She also enjoyed the MCF suppers.
“They have some of the best food that’s ever put on,” she said.
As a country girl and a ‘real woman’, Ms Drysdale loved the variety of clothes and great service at Jenny’s Shoppe.
She has a big heart for worthy causes and has been involved with Jenny’s Shoppe in two previous parades for MCF for its mission work and supported the Jenny’s Shoppe parade last November at Crown Palladium with the Essendon Football Club players, fundraising for cancer research.
Ms Drysdale has celebrated more than 40 years in television, with two gold Logies to her name and aged just 17 was Melbourne’s first go-go dancer.
She was loved by many as the barrel girl, named ‘ding dong’ on the Ernie Sigley Show and starred on Hey Hey It’s Saturday.
At 61 years of age, Ms Drysdale is busy as ever, flying high back on TV with The Circle on Channel 10.
Jenny’s Shoppe parade models aged 16 to 77, in sizes 8 to 24, will also be strutting their stuff down the catwalk.
Footwear from Jenina Shoes and formal jewellery from Monbulk Jewellers will also feature.
The audience will enjoy fantastic giveaways, live entertainment and afternoon tea and supper.
Tickets are $20 each and all money raised will go to MCF’s charity work.
Tickets will be available in-store early August at Jenny’s Shoppe, 37 Main Road, Monbulk.
Readers can call Jenny’s Shoppe on 9751 6106 for more information.
