UPPER Beaconsfield Community Centre is a Neighbourhood House that offers a wide variety of opportunities and resources to the community.
People from all walks of life use the centre to participate in a range of activities including classes in art and crafts, cooking, French and Spanish languages, computer skills, yoga, aerobics, zumba and circuit training and many children’s classes.
There is a computer room which is open all week for free public internet access.
The centre operates a licensed crèche from 8.30am to 4pm daily with no restrictions on session times, so pre-schoolers are kept happy and busy while their parents and carers undertake a course or activity.
The community centre is also a registered training organisation offering Certificate III in children’s services and aged care work, and first aid and CPR courses.
New courses in children’s services and aged care work will be starting soon and enrolments are currently open.
These courses are run over a full year and equip students with a recognised qualification which leads to many employment opportunities.
There are no pre-requisites for these courses and the centre offers a supportive learning environment for many adults who may not have accessed educational options for many years.
Payment plans are available for all students.
