ARTIST Emma Johnson will fight ‘Monday-itis’ and help kids and adults alike find their inner artist.
Ms Johnson will hold art classes at the Sherbrooke Art Society Gallery, 62 Monbulk Road, Belgrave, each Monday from 1 November to 20 December.
Adult drawing sessions will run from 1pm to 3pm, and under-14s can try their hands at sculpture from 4pm to 5.30pm.
Classes will be held in the newly renovated art society studios.
‘Which are clean, light and cosy,’ Ms Johnson said.
‘Outside we are surrounded by beautiful forest and inside beautiful art.’
In adult drawing classes, students will work both individually and collaboratively to learn creative and traditional techniques.
They’ll practice making letters and objects three dimensional, composition, getting started, textures, drawing from life, movement, portraits, light and landscape, storytelling and abstract colour.
‘It will be a fast-paced explore in basic drawing concepts arming the artist with tricks to tempt out their natural self-expression,’ Ms Johnson said.
Under-14s will create three-dimensional work, exploring materials and using basic casting techniques.
‘We will be using clay, plaster, leggo, oven-bake clay and gardening,’ Ms Johnson said.
Lessons are $15 each. All materials are provided. Call 0449 641 626 to book a place.
