HULL Road in Mooroolbark will receive a new pedestrian crossing and traffic lights if Labor wins the State Election.
Roads Minister Tim Pallas was joined by Labor candidate for Kilsyth Vicki Setches in announcing $300,000 for the project near Brice Avenue.
“This project will help regulate and improve traffic flow on busy Hull Road, but most importantly it will provide a safe crossing for pedestrians,” Mr Pallas said.
Ms Setches welcomed the funding announcement and said it was a great result for the local community.
“The crossing will help keep residents safe when crossing Hull Road, particularly the elderly citizens and young people in the area,” she said.
Mr Pallas said the new crossing was part of the government’s Arrive Alive road safety strategy, which aims to reduce death and serious injuries on Victorian roads by 30 per cent.
