THE Casey Council has praised its staff, emergency services, volunteers and residents who worked together to help people in need during the floods.
City of Casey director emergency management Greg Wood co-ordinated the council’s emergency relief efforts, which involved staff from nine council departments to address the myriad requests for support.
Mr Wood said the staff at the Sport For All sports stadium at the Casey Indoor Leisure Complex were fantastic in supporting council staff and people from the Department of Human Services, police, Red Cross and the Salvation Army, to address the needs of evacuees from Kooweerup.
Three cheers for the helpers
