Firefighters beat blaze

FIREFIGHTERS from Hallam and Dandenong extinguished a house fire in Eumemmerring on the weekend.
About 1.20pm on 17 April, local fire brigades were called to a single-storey house fire in Doveton Avenue.
Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and conducted a room search to confirm all occupants were out of the house before trying to maintain and extinguish the blaze.
Local residents helped the fire brigades to stop traffic until police arrived.
Fire investigators and police were investigating the cause of the fire.
