Maramba turns 20

By Lia Bichel
PAST and current students, staff and their families visited Maramba Primary School last week to celebrate its 20th birthday.
Photos, a magnificent quilt, and contents of the time capsule from over 10 years ago were also on display at the event on 18 May.
Teacher Gai Robb said there was a constant flow of visitors, including two ex-principals and half a dozen ex-staff members, for the three-hour celebrations.
Prospective prep students and their families also attended the festivities.
“There were many people checking out books and photo albums in the library, making ‘Maramba mushroom’ art in the art room and visiting the classrooms which were decked out in streamers, balloons and had birthday activities such as face painting, biscuit decorating and party games.”
Maramba Chorus entertained people during the evening celebrations.
Ms Robb said the students enjoyed the festivities and made their own special additions for the time capsule, which will be buried in the near future.
A school photo containing all students and teachers will be taken soon to commemorate the milestone.
