Fentons let loose

It was a family affair for the Narre Warren Little Athletics Club on Saturday morning as Christopher Fenton and his older sister Maddison ran and threw their way to club records.
Christopher continued his great early season form in the under-13s by running the 800 metres in an outstanding 2:31.67, shaving 0.03 off the previous club record of 2:31.70 set in March 1992.
Not to be outdone, sister Maddison broke the club record in the under-15 girls discus with a mighty throw of 34.82 metres breaking her older sister Stefanie’s record of 34.62, set in January 2009, by 20 centimetres.
Saturday morning was the first Dandenong Little Athletics Centre pentathlon for the current season. Competing alongside athletes from Hampton Park, Doveton/Endeavour Hills and the St Gerard’s clubs, the athletes competed for points in their five events. Results will be available in the coming weeks.
Athletes are reminded that this coming Saturday’s competition will start at 8.45am sharp to enable the scheduled walking events to be completed as early as possible.
Club training is on Thursday evenings from 5pm to 6pm at Max Pawsey Reserve, Fountain Drive, Narre Warren.
For any further information about the club including new memberships please phone Kerry on 9703 2239.
