UPWEY will welcome visitors from two Vietnamese Buddhist Temples during Chinese New Year celebrations.
Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia will host the guests on 29 January and 4 February.
“It is a custom for some Vietnamese Buddhist communities to celebrate the start of the New Year by travelling on buses in a pilgrimage to 10 Buddhist temples across Melbourne in one day,” centre director Frank Carter said.
The visitors will perform offerings and chanting, and generate blessings for the coming year.
The centre has been operating from its 33 Brooking Street site since 1978, and offers classes and courses on Buddhism.
A new introductory course Learn to Practice Buddhism – The Essential Teachings for Personal Happiness will start on Saturday 3 March, from 2pm to 4pm.
