IT’S beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Mount Evelyn and the community carols on Saturday are set to make the town even more festive.
It is set to be an entertainment filled night, with many local performers lined up to take the stage.
The Croydon Brass Band will open the show before the combined schools choir, which will feature Mount Evelyn Primary School, Birmingham Primary School and St Mary’s Primary School, sings carols.
Students from Mount Evelyn Christian School will also perform.
The CFA will transport Santa on its fire truck as he greets the crowd and poses for pictures and the men’s shed will offer a barbecue for all attendees.
The Mount Evelyn carols committee will also announce the winners of the primary schools colouring competition and present prizes.
Committee member Chelsea Bouma said the theme this year is Australian, complete with an Aussie version of the nativity.
Ms Bouma encouraged all residents and families to attend and thanked everyone for their help in getting the event up and running.
“It promises to be good night out with lots of entertainment and everyone in the community is welcome,” she said.
“Thanks to Servo, the men’s shed, Mount Evelyn Post Office, IGA, Bendigo Bank and councillor Maria McCarthy for their support.”
The community carols will be held at the Wray Crescent carpark from 6.30pm to about 9.30pm on Saturday 15 September.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs and rugs.
