MORE than 25 firefighters took close to half an hour to contain a massive house fire in The Patch today.
Firefighters from Kallista, Monbulk, Sassafras and The Patch were called to the blaze on Ramsay Court at about 3pm and arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames.
Kallista CFA firefighter Paul Marks said the fire was difficult to approach as it was on the far side of the house, near a steep hill and vegetation.
It is believed no-one was home at the time.
The cause and origin of the fire has yet to be determined.
