FIREFIGHTERS from across the Dandenong Ranges will be shaking tins to collect donations for the Good Friday Appeal this Friday.
Residents in Upwey, Selby, Belgrave and Belgrave South who see firetrucks driving through their street are urged to dig deep and donate what they can.
Firefighters from Clematis, Monbulk, Sassafras and Kallista will also be collecting at the intersection of Maroondah Highway and Ringwood Street in Ringwood.
Organiser Simon King from Clematis Fire Brigade said the group raised $26,609 last year and a total of close to $400,000 since the Dandenong Ranges group started more than 15 years ago.
He said he hoped the group would beat the 2010 record of $27,800 this year.
