Drivers slams into tree

By EMMA SUN

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after her vehicle ran off Monbulk Road in Silvan and hit a tree at about 3pm on Tuesday 2 April.
Firefighters from Silvan and Monbulk attended the scene and freed the 42-year-old Belgrave woman from her Mitsubishi Lancer.
Police said she suffered a fractured pelvis and head injuries. She was taken to The Royal Melbourne Hospital in a stable condition.
The cause of the accident is still unknown, but police said speed was not a factor.
Monbulk Road was closed off for about an hour while crews worked to get the car off the road.
