THE hills were rocked with a 2.2 magnitude earthquake last Friday 21 June.
Geoscience Australia (GA) reported the earthquake struck at 6.57am (AEST) in Lilydale and was felt across the area.
Facebook users took to the Mail Newspaper Facebook Group to share their experiences.
Ferny Creek resident Amanda Honeybone said she heard the earthquake.
“Just before 7am it sounded like a massive explosion,” she said.
Tayte Lindsay said she heard a rumble in Seville and Kim Stewart-Rice said her daughter felt it in Chirnside Park.
Others were confused as to whether it was thunder or an earth tremor.
