Campus set to resume

BY Melissa Meehan

TERTIARY education will be available at Lilydale’s former Swinburne campus from the start of next year, according to Yarra Ranges Council mayor Jim Child.
Speaking with the Mail on Tuesday, Cr Child said since the State Government’s announcement of $100,000 funding last week, things had been moving full steam ahead.
“It’s absolutely exciting,” Cr Child said.
“The main thing I’ve heard is that the money is for a sustainable study, but that’s not the case, this is to continue talks with interested parties.
“We already know who they are.”
Cr Child said the council hoped that education providers would be locked in as soon as possible, with enrolments expected to begin early 2014.
