FOUR people will face court after a successful drug operation conducted by members from the Croydon Divisional Tasking Unit.
Search warrants were executed yesterday in Lilydale, Vermont South, and Mitcham which resulted in police seizing various amounts of heroin, amphetamine, cannabis and cash.
A 38-year-old Vermont South man, a Mitcham man, 52, a Lilydale woman, 31, and a Heathmont woman, 30, have all been charged with trafficking heroin and associated charges.
All four have been bailed by police to appear at the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on 11 November.
Croydon Divisional tasking Unit Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Jim Sutherland said these type of police operations were important as they caused disruption to the supply of drugs in the eastern suburbs.
“We intend to cause as much disruption to the drug trade in the eastern suburbs as we possibly can,” he said.
“We will continue running these operations and urge the community to assist us by contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 with any information concerning any illegal drug activity.”
