BELGRAVE South Primary School has welcomed new principal Kerryn Ballie with open arms.
Stepping up to the job last Monday, Ms Ballie said her reception from the school community has been fantastic.
“The school community has been lovely to me and really have made an effort in getting to know me,” she said.
“I’m really excited to be in this position and the students have been really excited too, which is nice.”
Ms Baillie has a long history in IT as a computer coach and has spent time working as assistant and acting principal at Emerald Primary School before making the move to Belgrave South Primary School.
“I’m really big on teaching the importance of technology to our students and we already have iPads in the school for students,” she said.
“I’ve seen the great impact technology can have in literacy and numeracy for students which is great.”
Having acted as principal at Belgrave South for the last three months, Ms Baille said it is good for the school to have some stability again
“It’s good starting when I have as it has given me the opportunity to set up for next year for a really great start,” she said.
“I’m rapt to be here with the great, keen and enthusiastic students.”
