TO END the final season of 2013, The Basin Theatre Group has a comedy treat in store.
The group will be performing Ken Ludwig’s Lend Me a Tenor, a comedy set in the Cleveland Grand Opera House in 1934.
Director Joe Tuppenney said he first read the play three years ago and could not stop laughing out loud.
“It has been a play I’ve wanted to direct ever since I first read it and it’s a really good play to finish off the year with,” he said.
“We have an excellent cast, an excellent crew and an excellent theatre and an even better show.
“The talent in the cast is wonderful and so far there has been two months of quite solid work to get the show ready.”
Mr Tuppenney said the final preparations for the show are well and truly underway for opening night and said it is a show not to be missed.
Lend Me a Tenor is playing 8 to 30 November from Thursday to Sunday with matinee performances on Sunday at The Basin Theatre located on the corner of Doongalla and Simpsons Roads, The Basin.
Tickets are $25 and include complimentary parking, programme and all refreshments with a discounted price of $20 for groups of 10 or more.
To book, visit www.thebasintheatre.org.au or phone 1300 784 668 between 7pm and 9pm.
