Your report in the 5 November issue made me laugh out loud (Campaign Targets High-Risk Road).
The new police crackdown on the Belgrave/Gembrook road has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with raising revenue through fines.
After all, the $3.3 million has to be recouped somehow, and let’s not forget the cost of the vast new police station under construction in Emerald.
Surely all those new barriers have made the road safer, and if not, what was the point?
How many accidents have there been since the works were completed?
